What better way to celebrate your ancestors, immediate family, or circle of friends than through a beautiful mixed-media photo piece? Celebrate Your Family, Sisterhood, or Friend Circle. Mixed Media instructor Randi Markowitz will lead the way on how to use your photo scans, gesso, mat gels, family heirlooms, and more to create a larger piece you’ll be happy to hang. *Materials are included. Want to continue the fun? The studio will be open for play this month on Sundays April 23rd and 30th from 1-4 p.m. About Randi: As a visual artist, Randi works in a number of different media and mixed media combinations. Her bright and colorful artwork is infused with striking visual elements that create abstract and interesting shapes. “I am drawn to mixed media as I am able to create many layers using all types of media. I love the juxtaposition of large abstract shapes that contrast with thin lines. Using photographs in my art pieces adds another layer of interest. "I also use found objects like branches, combs, and household items to create interesting and unusual textures. I incorporate papers, often handmade, into every art piece. Mixed media is my passion and creating interesting and compelling art that connects is my dream.”
